What is so spectacular about Romanian villages ? They keep the hundred year old traditions. From the way they dress to dancing and atmosphere, the rural folk gather to celebrate saints or just to sell their home made products at a craftsman market. A simple yet colorful world, in which the visitor is not a tourist but a guest.
Maramures Folk Music Festival
3rd of April – 7th of April
Dance, traditions, nature.
An enchanting Festival, with music and local dances, that takes place, during the celebration of the Orthodox Easter. It is the ideal moment for these two celebrations to combine tradition with ortodox religion.
In 2010 the Orthodox Easter takes place at the beginning of April, a gentle spring month in Maramures. We invite you between 3 and 7 of April 2010 to a celebration of life and rural traditions in northen Romania.
It is not a festival for the masses so you will have a chance to enjoy the magic of a Romanian village surrounded by mountains and undisturbed by tourism. Every year a total of only 150 tourists attend this Festival.
