    ITINERARY
     
    Day 1.
    Arrival at Otopeni airport, meet and be greeted by your guide and transfer to the guesthouse in Seciu, within the well-known vineyard region Valea Calugareasca. Check-in and time at leisure. Visit the local farm with different species of animals. Dinner and overnight.
     
    Day 2.
    Breakfast. Morning trip to Zamfira Monastery, founded at the end of 17th century by Lady Zamfira, the wife of the ruler Manuil Apostoli, and completed by her sister-in-law, Smaranda, in 1743. The metropolitan bishop Nifon built, between 1855-1857, on the same spot, a new church that is painted entirely by one of the Romanian greatest painters, Nicolae Grigorescu (he was only 19 years old at the time). Today, Zamfira is a famous monastery of nuns.
    Back to Seciu, where you’ll find interesting things about the history of wine production methods and taste a delightful venison lunch, but not before having proceeded to a traditional wine tasting in the cellar. In the afternoon, visit Belu Mansion, built in the 19th century by the Belu family, its 4 sides reminding us of the four ethnographic regions of Romania. Dinner and overnight stay at Seciu.
     
    Day 3.
    Breakfast. Departure for Gura Vadului, where you will visit Verbila Monastery, founded in 1539, with very valuable sculptures in wood and stone. Stop for lunch with wine tasting at Urlati cellar. Here you’ll visit the wine cellar, receive information about wine production, see the wine collection, taste at least 5 types of wine and have a delicious lunch. Onto Tohani region, visit Eminescu’s manor house (the national Romanian poet) and check-in at Tohani manor house, within Tohani vineyard. The manor was founded 40 years ago on the domains of Prince Nicolae I of Romania, brother of King Carol II of Romania, who lived here his wonderful love story with Ioana Dolette. After a short presentation of the wine cellar and the wine production technology, you’ll have dinner with wine tasting. Overnight stay at Tohani Manor.
     
    Day 4.
    Breakfast. Transfer to Bucharest for the flight home.
