Building history
Residence Hirscher ( Iordache David House) is situated on Apollonia Hirscher Street, in the age of Straielor Fair, continuing the Fish Fair, that connected since the Middle Ages, the main market of the city and the Black Street, Castle Street today.
The evolution of the urban city shows that the street later on named Hirscher is part of the oldest area of the built citadel.Few medieval buildings in this part of the town have resisted the great fire o 1869. The oldest image of the building ( drawing of Edward Hulverding dated 1848, kept at the Art Museum of Brasov), demonstretes that it had the volume, the shape and the dimensions of the existing building.The main facade of the building is characterized by symmetry, architecture elements and decorative motifs of classical inspiration, displaying a horizontal composition.
